I am Gabriel, I was born in Uruguay and when I turned 18 I came alone to live in Spain, where I have been happily living since then.
I remember being in the cinema watching Tron Legacy, in the first minutes of the film a black Ducati Sport Classic driven by the protagonist appeared. Its classic but sporty line made me fall in love instantly and its original sound (in movies they usually put a Japanese engine sound on all the motorcycles) was something I had never heard before. Until then I had never paid attention to motorcycles, but that movie lit the spark.
What is the make, model, and year of your motorcycle?
It's a 2006 Ducati Monster S2R 800
What inspired you to customize your motorcycle?
I always liked to customize my favorite things (jackets, caps, sneakers...) and I wanted to make a relatively modern motorcycle that looked like a really classic one.
Can you tell me about the overall concept for your custom motorcycle? What was your inspiration?
Initially I was inspired by the designs of Pierre Terblanche, while the world was asking for the return of the great designs of Massimo Tamburini, I was amazed by the MH900e and the Sport Classic S, but I wanted to do it with the line of a first generation Monster, the design original by Gandini.
What specific parts of your motorcycle have been customized?
Modified subframe, seat, handlebars, RCS corsa brake pumps, footpegs, marker, fairing braket, license plate holder, lighting, wiring, timing belts covers, fenders, air intake, manifolds and exhausts.
Can you describe some of the unique or custom-made parts on your motorcycle?
The monoposto seat, manifolds, number plate holder, fairing and braket are all artisan made using rudimentary tools.
What are some of the challenges you faced during the customization process?
The biggest challenge was to make the motorcycle with my budget, my knowledge and above all my tools, I did a large part of the modification process on the street in front of my house because I do not have a workshop to work in, I had not done this before either, so I was putting into practice what I learned in forums and videos.
What is your favorite part of your custom motorcycle? Why?
I think the monoposto seat is my favorite, it was the first piece I ever made with fiberglass and with it everything started, with it I learned what I needed to be able to make the fairing.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about customizing their motorcycle?
I would advise them not to be afraid to try it for themselves, the attachment that is gained to a project is much greater if the involvement is absolute.
If you could change one thing about your custom motorcycle, what would it be?
I would love to have the monster 1100 engine, it is the pinnacle of Ducati's aircooled engines and of course brakes to match the engine.

What are your plans for the future of your custom motorcycle?
At a project level I would like to change exhausts and brakes, at a dream level I would like to install a 1100 engine, but at a rational level I would love to be able to ride it as long as my body allows it, it is not a motorcycle that I have modified to ride it in bars, I like to go fast with it and give meaning to the word "racer" from the term cafe racer. The day its position is too extreme for me and I cannot ride it, I will keep it until the end of my days in my living room. This motorcycle gave me everything, love, friendship, experience, inspiration and knowledge.
